Welcome to Risør
On our website – https://www.visitsorlandet.com/risor/hva-skjer/ – you will find updates on Cultural events
1.) Many people ask us to suggest nice things to do while in town. Here are some ideas. Walk up to the Fire Tower to enjoy a nice, close-up view of the town and harbor. The tower hosts art exhibitions in the summer months.
2.) Visit Risørfllekken with the children “Yes- benches”
If a child gets an adult to sit on one of the two benches, the adult must fulfill a wish
presented by the child. The wish must not incur any financial costs.
3.) Visit Urheia to walk the local historical society’s “cultural trail”, or simply enjoy the view from
one of the many crags.
4.) Take a stroll along the waterfront end up at Dampskipsbrygga (Steamship pier). To conclude your stroll, spit in the water, spin around and spit again between two blinks from Stangholmen Lighthouse.
5.) Eat a “munke” A simple, local temptation, typical of the region. Take a refreshing bath. Risør has a total of 16 swimming areas, scattered on the mainland and in the archipelago.
6.) Walk up “Danielsen stairs” and visit The Blue Park to play hopscotch – or maybe just feel blue?
7.) Risør Akvarium. Visit the region’s only saltwater aquarium. The fish are fed every day at 2 p.m. The Church of the Holy Spirit
8.) Take a guided tour of this beautiful little baroque church from 1647, feel the good energy and maybe sit down for a quiet, contemplative moment.
9.) Take a stroll through alleys and passageways to admire the well-preserved 19th century
wooden houses. Kamperhaug and Tangen are particularly idyllic neighborhoods. The short detour to Kastellet is recommended
