Risør is one of the oldest towns along the south coast of Norway, with exceptionally well preserved wooden houses. Take a walk through the neighbourhoods of Tangen, Kamperhaug and Solsiden, and make sure you have a look at the beautiful Baroque church from 1647.

Digital “Wooden House Town” walk.
The shipping town of Risør has an interesting history. Take a digital walk with your smartphone through the wooden house town and witness Risør’s development from when the church was built in 1647 to the reconstruction of the town after the fire in 1861. Risørflekken
The White Spot Urheia Park and Fort is Risør’s recreation area and local park with well prepared footpaths. Risørflekken (white spot) is an old navigation mark with a great view. Walk from the market square along Solsiden and up Urbakken in about 15 minutes.

Walk from Barmen, through rugged and hilly terrain to Vakthusheia. Fantastic view from the top, about 1 hour hike.

12 km long hike starting from Risør. Follow the blue marked trail through rugged terrain and enjoy the fantastic view from the top Fransåsen. About 4 hours.
